Our Story
minliving started with a pile of plastic mailers. We began selling online in 2015 and, like most small shops, shipped everything in plastic. A visit to a friend's recycling company changed that. Seeing how much of it never gets recycled pushed us to learn about the circular economy, and to look for better materials for our own business.
From glass cups to compostable mailers
In 2019 we noticed parents hesitating to give their kids glass cups because they break. So we designed a silicone sleeve with a hex grip that fits standard mason jars, and launched it in January 2020.
Then COVID-19 hit. Online shopping surged, and so did plastic mailer waste. We went looking for a mailer that was just as durable and waterproof, but compostable. That became the minliving compostable mailer.
Minimizing impact necessary
That's what minliving stands for. We make everyday products that do their job well and leave less behind: mailers and bags that compost, tape made from plants, and sleeves that make glass last.
